The birth of this Ministry took place about twenty five years ago in a London hospital where Vera Lim had a “life after death” experience. Whilst in a coma, she promised God Almighty that if He allowed her to live; she would serve Him and do what He wanted her to do. The years following speak of that commitment. Whilst her roles as wife, mother to two children and business proprietor demanded much of her time and energy in the intervening years, she was always conscious of the commitment she had made some years earlier.

One day in 2000 something happened in a food hall in the Garden City Shopping Centre in Perth that would change the lives of Vera, her husband, Albert, and their children in a spectacular way. One of the shop owners had collapsed and Vera began praying for him. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Perth Hospital. Vera requested and was granted visiting rights and she prayed with the shop owner while he lay in coma. A nurse witnessed that as Vera prayed and commanded his eyes to open in the ‘Name of Jesus’, they opened. (Phil 2:9-10)

Early in 2001, a lady from Singapore had come to Perth to convalesce. She had a long history of mental health problems and had tried to commit suicide on a number of occasions. She was on medication and other treatments but doctors said there was nothing else they could do for her. One Sunday evening in church, the Holy Spirit told Vera to go to the back of the church and ask this particular lady if she could pray for her. Vera knew nothing of her condition but at the altar, Vera heard from the Holy Spirit that this lady was suicidal. On being asked, the lady confirmed this and shared that, even that afternoon, she had contemplated jumping from the balcony of the home in which she was staying. Vera prayed for the lady and, together with others, spent a number of sessions ministering the Word and praying for her. They taught the lady how to renew her mind by applying God’s Word to her life. (Romans 12:2) The lady returned to Singapore completely healed and restored to her right mind. Since then she has lived life productively as a teacher.

Doors opened North of the river in Perth when a lady was healed from a long standing digestive/bowel disorder. The Holy Spirit gave Vera a word of knowledge to advise this lady to cease taking certain treatments.

In a vivid dream in 2002, God showed Vera’s husband, Albert, how God was going to use Vera in the days ahead. This led to Albert’s support and willingness to release Vera for the work she has been called to do.

Vera and a few ladies began to meet faithfully every Tuesday morning over a number of months for prayers and the Word. Consequently, the Tuesday meetings began to see salvation, baptism in the Holy Spirit, healing and deliverance taking place. Sometimes evening prayer meetings would take place for those who work during the day.

It was in one of these evening meetings that a pastor from Indonesia attended. He was then in Perth seeking medical attention. He had a severe cervical spinal injury which required an operation. As they were worshipping and praying, God’s anointing came upon Vera and when she laid her hands on the pastor he was miraculously healed. He then removed the neck support he was wearing and began moving freely and playing the piano in worship to Jesus- neither of which he had been able to do for a long time. Subsequently, Vera was invited to Indonesia to preach and pray for the sick. Thus began Vera’s healing ministry overseas. God opened doors in:

Jakarta

One Tuesday morning a lady from Indonesia, accompanied by a friend, came to see Vera. She had a severe cervical spinal injury for which she had sought medical opinions all over the world. Without exception, the advice she received was the pessimistic – that she would need an operation with high chances of her being left paralysed. The lady had a young family and she was desperate to find a cure. As Vera ministered to her what the Bible says about healing and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, hope welled up in her heart and she left baptised, speaking in a new tongue, and knowing that God’s Word never returns to Him void. (Isaiah 55:8-11) Subsequently, Vera spent a number of sessions with the lady. She also made herself available on the telephone at all hours, praying and teaching her how to use Spiritual warfare. The result after a MRI scan just over two years later was total restoration of all cervical spine damage. Hallelujah! This also opened different doors for Vera’s ministry in Jakarta.

Hawaii

Vera was requested to go to San Francisco to minister and this led to doors being opened in Hawaii.

Singapore

Through the attendance of overseas visitors, invitations were extended to Vera to minister in Singapore. Vera accepted an invitation to pray for a lady with stage 4 cancer in a Singapore Hospital. Two years later, this lady was completely healed. An oncologist at the hospital encouraged Vera to set up a prayer ministry to help patients diagnosed with terminal cancer. This she did.

Malaysia and Sri Lanka

Recently doors opened into Malaysia and the latest invitation is to Sri Lanka.

At a regular monthly Christian meeting near Mandurah, South of Perth, Vera met a married couple who established a website for her ministry and it was from here that the name ‘Jesus Heals Us Ministry’ was established.

Vera took by faith the Word of Mark 16:15-18…”Go ye into all the world… and these signs shall follow them that believe…” Many have witnessed the Gospel being preached and the anointing of the Holy Spirit has touched many lives.

Great and fruitful doors have been opened to Vera and she is prepared to walk through each of them “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations and then the end shall come.” Matthew 24:14
